The recent volatility in the stock market and economy has finally got people asking how they can save money.
Well, I’m not the most frugal person in the world, so I decided to search some of my favorite personal finance blogs to find the best “money saving” tips I could find.

While I’m not happy that the economy had to get so bad before people decided it was time to save money, I am glad that people are finally paying closer attention to where they spend their money and how to cut their spending. There’s never been a better time to start saving than right now.

Thank you for linking to my article. I wouldn’t say that everyone of those articles was written by someone who was moved by the current economy to save… For instance, most of these articles were written some time ago. Of course, as personal finance bloggers, most of us pay more attention to saving money than the average person. I think a lot more people are paying attention now than were doing it only a few months ago. Hopefully they will continue sound money practices when the economy stabilizes.
Thanks for the comment Patrick. I agree that personal finance bloggers are better savers and are generally more frugal than the average person. While I realize that many of these articles were written a while ago, they are great articles for people who are more interested in saving (now) because of the economy. I didn’t really have a requirement that the article had to be written because of the current economic conditions, I was just looking for good “money saving” tips to share. Kristine, I understand. I think it is easy for people to get complacent when everything seems to be going well. But sometimes it’s much more difficult to make those changes after living the high life for awhile. It’s always best to put some away for a rainy day.
